Your hand is the cursor.

Conductor is a Mac menu bar app that tracks your hand through the webcam. Point to move the cursor, pinch to click and drag, make a fist to scroll. Nothing leaves your Mac.

The first window is Conductor's own preview. Whatever your hand does inside the dashed box happens to the cursor on your screen.

Six moves cover almost everything.

The cursor tracks the midpoint between your thumb and index tip. That point barely moves when you pinch, so clicks land where you aimed.

Move

Hold your hand up with thumb and index apart. The cursor follows the point between them.

Click and drag

Pinch thumb and index to press. Move while pinched to drag. Open to let go.

Double click

Two quick pinches, the same as two quick clicks.

Right click

Touch your thumb to your middle finger.

Scroll

Make a fist and move it up or down. Content follows your hand.

Zoom

Pinch with both hands, then spread them apart or bring them together.

Need your hands back? ⌃⌥⌘H pauses tracking from any app.

Every gesture can be rebound.

Six triggers, each mapped to whatever you want. Click, right click, middle click, scroll, zoom, pause, nothing at all, or any keyboard shortcut you record.

Side by side or stacked, it works with your desk.

Click where your camera sits on a map of your screens. Conductor lays out the dashed box the way your screens sit around the camera, so reaching toward a screen puts the cursor on it. The box takes the shape of your layout, so a tall stack moves the cursor at the same speed up and down as left and right.

All displays

The control box covers every screen at once. One sweep of your hand crosses the whole desk.

Display under the cursor

Park the mouse on a screen and raise your hand. That screen is yours until your hand leaves the frame.

Main display only

Keep the hand on one screen and the mouse everywhere else.

The camera feed never leaves your Mac.

On-device tracking

Apple's Vision framework finds your hand. It runs on your Mac's own chip.

No network code

Conductor never opens a connection. No account, no analytics, no update pings.

Nothing is recorded

Each frame is read for hand points, then dropped. No video or images touch the disk.

Small details that make it feel right.

21

joints per hand

Vision reports every knuckle and fingertip, up to two hands at once.

30 fps

at 640×480

Low resolution is plenty for hand pose and keeps the CPU cool.

1€

filter

A One Euro filter smooths hard when your hand is still and gets out of the way when it moves fast.

0.35 / 0.55

pinch hysteresis

A pinch engages and releases at different distances, measured in hand widths, so clicks never chatter.

~1 cm

dead zone

The cursor freezes at the start of a pinch, so a click never turns into a tiny drag.

0

stuck buttons

If your hand leaves the frame mid-drag, Conductor lets go of the mouse button.

Build it in about a minute.

  1. 1

Click the hand in your menu bar and choose Show Preview. Allow camera access.

  2. 2

Turn on Conductor in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Accessibility. That's what lets it move the mouse.

  3. 3

Raise your hand inside the dashed box and start pointing. Tune the box, smoothing, and pinch distance in Settings.
